WHY WE ADVOCATE FOR THESE PLATFORMS

"I firmly believe the lives of the Citizens of our House District 8 can be improved by providing services to their families such as: public safety, a quality education for all, in particular Skilled Trades opportunities, Apprenticeships, and work force preparedness. Our communities can be enhanced through road construction, bridge repair, and waterway maintenance and environmental protection, while utilizing our resources in a sustainable manner. I will go to work for you every day on these issues."

PLANNING FOR A FAMILY & PARENTHOOD

It is necessary to be fully and adequately prepared for the most awesome responsibility in the world: CHILD REARING. We will provide prospective parents with the needed education and parenting skills. Childbirth should be a conscious act.

FAMILY RESPONSIBILITY

Family planning should become the standard. Determining the number of children prospective parents will nurture and can afford should be the first step. Single parents make up half of all households in this country. Parents, mothers, and fathers, should be responsible, not society.

CAREER PLANNING

As adults, you will spend one-third (1/3) of your life on a job. We should provide career planning. Students should be tested and counseled by the Alabama education system, interests and natural abilities for a particular career. The curriculum could then be designed to match each career goal. Education and training are the keys to job readiness and occupational choice leading to financial security.

FINANCIAL PLANNING

Everyone needs to understand the principles of financial independence and financial planning; especially how to make the most of their investments towards education, child rearing, and comfortable retirement. It is essential that parents be financially prepared for their children and their children's futures. Financial planning for a college education or skilled trades training for future employment needs to be considered for your children's future employment.
